Connect Keywords

Jigsaw puzzle

You can use more than one keyword while searching. But instead of just listing words in the database, link your concepts with a connector. For example you might use "time management" and students.

The Boolean Connectors AND, OR, and NOT are often used to combine keywords Remember that using AND will locate records with all your keywords together thereby limiting or narrowing your search. However, using OR will broaden your search by looking for your keywords separately. (Hint: OR means more.) NOT will cause the database to exclude a key word. i.e. Chihuahua AND Mexico NOT dog.

Now that you've seen us brainstorm and connect keywords, it's your turn!

On the next page you will be searching the ProQuest database for information on how students manage their time.
