GFFL League Overview
-
Each season schedule consists of one preseason game,
seven regular season games, and playoffs.
-
-
The GFFL consists of two divisions: the Colonial Eastern and Western Conference
-
Each teams registers at least five, but no more than eleven players.
-
New members can register with a team, or as individuals through the draft board
-
New registering rookies could use a combination of Identifications.
A birth certificate that validates age with name in combination with a work or
college picture I. D. that validates what the person looks like meets the requirement.
-
Penalties are assessed in downs, not yards.
-
Each series will have five downs with no chance for a first.
-
You have ten seconds from when the ball is put in play until you snap the ball.
Having five or ten written plays sometimes eliminates having to think.
-
Players play at Quarterback, Defensive Back, Offensive Lineman, Defensive Lineman,
or Wide Receiver.
-
Most GFFL teams use this typical 5-man formation: A center with a quarterback in the shotgun position. Two wide outs and a back next to the quarterback to block the first guy in. Remember to think of your center as a receiver when designing plays. Defenses vary, but the most common is the two man rush along with a middle-line backer and two cornerbacks.
-
Field is modified to be proportionate to five on five flag football
(25 yard width, by 50 yard length).
-
Each captain receives an official rule book upon registration approval.
-
Players must be at least 18 years of age, but no older than 40,
along with other eligibility requirements.
The GFFL demands that all members represent the organization as a progressive and professional athletic association while encouraging the health, safety, and sportsmanship of every member. Specifics on conduct and appearance can be found HERE |
